چکیده

A 41-year-old white man with a long history of acne rosacea was referred for evaluation of a persistent erythematous lesion on his nose. The lesion had been present for 2 years and had proved resistant to topical and oral antibiotic therapy. Examination of the patient’s face revealed malar erythema, scattered acnei form papules , and an absence of comedones, consistent with mild acne rosacea. On the dorsum of the nose, there was a discrete 2-cm, reddish-brown, indurated plaque with prominent telangiectasias (Figure 1). The clinical differential diagnosis included granuloma faciale, sarcoidosis, and discoid lupus erythematosus. Histopathologic findings were consistent with granuloma faciale and revealed a mixed infiltrate in the papillary and reticular dermis composed of neutrophils, eosinophils, plasma cells, lymphocytes, and monocytes. There was an overlying Grenz zone noted, as well as associated leukocytoclastic vasculitis.

Comparison of 585 nm with 595 nm pulsed dye laser in the treatment of warts

Background and aim : The clinical management of verrucae vulgaris is often challenging and no treatment is always effective. Early studies have suggested that pulsed-dye laser (PDL) may be highly effective in the treatment of verrucae through obliteration of dilated vessels in papillary dermis. The objective of this study was to compare safety and efficacy of 585 nm with 595 nm PDL in the...

Granuloma Faciale with Disseminated Extrafacial Lesions

Granuloma faciale (GF) is a rare cutaneous disorder categorized as a localized form of small-vessel vasculitis. Clinically, it manifests as single or multiple well-demarcated red-brown plaques, papules and nodules, nearly always confined to the face. Herein, we report a 39-year-old man with multiple red-brown infiltrated plaques on face and extrafacial lesions on back, shoulders and both arms. ...

Pyogenic granuloma following treatment with pulsed dye Laser: Report of two cases

Pulsed dye laser (PDL) is an effective treatment for port- wine stain and can cause some short- term and long- term side- effects. Pyogenic granoluma is one of its late- onset adverse effects. Herein, we present two cases of pyogenic granoluma following treatment of port- wine stain with PDL.

Granuloma faciale (GF), also known as "eosinophilic granuloma," is a rare benign leukocytoclastic vasculitis which most commonly occurs on the face of middle-aged Caucasian males. Clinically, GF appears as single or multiple, slowly growing, reddish-brown papules, nodules or plaques which may be cosmetically unpleasant. Its pathogenesis is unknown and GF is notoriously resistant to treatments. ...
